CAD Technologist

Summary

LBE Group Inc. is a growing Engineering firm located in Kenora, ON. We provide Engineering services to a variety of Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional clients across Canada.  Kenora is located 2 hours East of Winnipeg on beautiful Lake of the Woods. The community of 15,000 has many of the amenities of a big city and an abundance of outdoor activities. LBE Group Inc. is seeking to hire a CAD Technician for a full-time position.

Job Description

The successful applicant will provide support to our group of Engineering professionals. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and prepare 2D and 3D Engineering drawings from design sketches.
  • Operate AutoCAD and/or Revit, assist with the development and preparation of sketches, check and verify design drawings to conform to specification and design requirements.
  • Perform general duties as required such as printing/plotting, submitting drawings to clients and completing markups for as-builts/revisions.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of projects as directed.
  • Communicate with clients, Architects and Engineers on all project related questions.
  • Develop an understanding of Engineering and become proficient with project requirements.

Qualifications

  • A technical diploma, CAD certificate or equivalent is preferred but not a requirement.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must have valid full driver’s licence.
  • Previous experience in an Engineering services environment would be considered an asset.

Skills

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Proven ability to read, evaluate and interpret designs and drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with other team members in a small team environment.
  • Basic understanding of building design and mechanical processes would be considered an asset.
Mechanical Designer

The community of 15,000 has many of the amenities of a big city and an abundance of outdoor activities. LBE Group Inc. is seeking to hire a Mechanical Designer for full time employment, on site in Kenora.

Job Description

The successful applicant will provide support to our group of Engineering professionals. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare calculations for mechanical building systems such as sizing ducting, piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, and specialized mechanical equipment and components.
  • Develop layout plans and detailed design drawings of mechanical building systems such as HVAC, sanitary drainage, storm drainage, domestic water distribution, specialized plumbing and piping systems.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports necessary to deliver a project.
  • Develop project-specific mechanical details and equipment schedules.
  • Develop mechanical-specific Revit assets to support Revit-based mechanical project delivery methodologies.
  • Design Code-compliant building systems that meet client, owner, municipal, and provincial requirements that meet the applicable industry standards.
  • Coordinate the design of the mechanical building system with structural, architectural and electrical systems and components.
  • Develop coordination drawing or model packages to mitigate coordination issues during construction.
  • Manage project stakeholder requirements and expectations.
  • Design mechanical building systems using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD while adhering to company BIM and CAD standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the mechanical/HVAC industry is a must.
  • Experience working in AutoCAD MEP/Revit is considered an asset - willing to train.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
